Before & After
En-Suite before & after.
My brief was to re style the ensuite.
First impressions of this room was it was dark and cluttered. The carpet colour absorbed all the light. I wanted to create for my client, good lighting (we all need that ladies when applying our make up) plenty of storage to create an open and comfortable space that's easy to maintain and clean. Removing the carpet and replacing it with Amtico gives the illusion that the floor space is larger, even though it's the same size. The radiator was relocated away from the doorway to the other side of the window. This then made it a feature and also positioned well for use of towels for when showering. Having all cupboards and facilities along the one wall opens up the space in the room. So we no longer needed free standing cupboards taken up valuable space. The cupboards also provide work surface so plenty of space to use your products. Over this area is an LED steam free mirror to enhance lighting and to make life easier when applying your makeup. The shower doors were replaced with a simple less fussy style again thinking of light and the appearance of creating a greater space. The tile board, flooring and wood colour are all light neutral shades with just adding the depth of colour to the walls to add definition to the room.

REAL Internet, relocated to a new office. But it wasn’t so new! The space was good with great access but that was as far as it went. The two rooms had be previously used as a laboratory for making glasses. The requirements for the office. 4 work stations. A meeting area with large screen. Kitchen area for refreshments. Relaxing space away from the desk. The walls were tiles (style as in public wc’s). So to create a soft and calm working environment the walls were half cladded. The client likes the thought of saving the planet so we used re claimed wood. This was then painted a very subtle grey. The ceilings were painted white to reflect the light. We used charcoal grey carpet tiles for practicality and to help soften the room and to give it a warmer fell to the hard floor that was in place before. In the corner of the room a kitchen area was created leaving some of the white tiles exposed to create a greater feeling. We have a space with an arm chair and a fire to sit and relax whilst enjoying a coffee. The second room is split into two areas. A table with large screen for presentations and meetings. With the other side of the room a large work station area that the MD uses. This was an interesting project it's one that I look at and can’t quite believe it's the same space.

Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.
The site had just been taken over by a group of volunteers and was then registered as a charity. It was really important to have the club house refreshed this would aid the prospect of more people hiring the venue. So by replacing the carpet to tone in with the hard flooring on the dance floor. This made the room look larger and less divided. Re- painting the pillar box red feature wall with a strong colour that would compliment the flooring works well in this space. The green on the edging of the chairs and around the bar is a nod to Yate & District Athletics club. Which was one of the reasons how this facility came about. This was all completed on a very tight budget, but has been very successful for YOSC.
